I'm pleased to know so many of you enjoyed my little disclaimer the
premiered
last week! I put it there because I figured it was about time I put
a
disclaimer. I'm afraid someone important will email me and nab me on
using
Savage Garden's name(s) and songs without permission or whatever. But
I know
you'd all back me up in case that important someone tried to shut me
down,
right? RIGHT?!?! In the meantime, guess what beautiful event happened
to me on
Monday? I got my driver's license! I know, I know, watch out California...but
seriously, I was freaked out of my mind but I did fine. I waited forever
to
take the dumb test because I didn't feel ready, but now I feel so much
better.
Like a big weight has been lifted from my shoulders. Unfortunately,
my parents
refuse to let me drive alone yet because they say I need more experience
("We
just want you to be safe, Lauren"). Who knows how long that will be?!?!
And if
anyone wants to send me my dream car (a 4-door Chevy Cavalier with
a CD
player/cassette player and in medium opal blue metallic), I'd appreciate
it!
Alrighty, on with the newsletter!

Savage Trivia
Last week's trivia question was: Who came up with the idea of the "Truly"
video in Paris? The answer is Mr. Jones, who had always wanted to do
a video
in a European city like INXS. Most of you guessed it was Darren, who
wanted to
do this romantic song in the most romantic city in the world. Technically,
you
were right too. But I didn't count those who guessed that because I
realized
it too late and didn't have the email addresses of other people who
had
guessed it. But we'll just keep it specific; that Daniel set the ball
rolling.
Unfortunately, nobody got it right except for [email protected], who
just
guessed. Well, she had a 50% chance of getting it right.
This week's quessie is: Ohhhh geez, I'm running dry on trivia questions.
Anyway, it's: What did Daniel originally study to be? (Bonus points
if you can
explain to me what the heck it is!!)

Hey,
I'm going to London and Paris for 2 weeks and I
promised myself
and 2 other people that I would get pictures of the same place Darren
stood for his "Truly, Madly, Deeply". If you could find out some
places where he was standing I would really appreciate it...you could
even make it a question for an up coming week or put the question in
the newsletter....there might be somebody out there that knows if you
don't. If you want I can send the pictures to you too. I'll get
doubles so you can have some vopies of the holy ground on which he
stood.
Well, so much for using it as a trivia question! Anyhoo, I know of one
place -
the Sacre-Coeur which is on Montmartre (I think that's how you spell
it). You
won't be able to miss it :) If anyone knows of any of the other
places, let
Becky know. Maaike, I know you've been to all the places but the bar,
so maybe
you can help her! ~Lauren :o)

Hi Lauren!
It's the first time I've written to the SGer,cos I only subscribed late
(By
the way ,you're getting close to the 100th Sger!Wow,congratulations!)
.I
can't believe I didn't do it earlier, but we French seem to be always
late
when it comes to SG!! It's just because IWantYou came out much later
in
France than in other countries! Just wait a bit: soon all French will
be
Number one fans! I'm working very hard on it !!And it seems to be on
the
really good way:Every person I make listen to SG completely fall in
love
with them! And I'm talking about Metal and Hard-rock lovers too! And
I SWEAR
I'll do my best so that SG are number one in France as soon as "Animal"
comes out!!
Oh,by the way, just a little suggestion to Darren (hope he reads this!):
Why
don't you move in Paris? You once said you loved this city! It would
be so
much easier for me to meet you (by coincidence of course...hum!) And
I'm
sorry to say this but I just don't care about what New-Yorkers would
say!!
;-) ) Am I in a French mood or something? Of course I am!!
Anyway, love to everybody reading this ,especially Lauren, et
"un gros
Bisou à Sam et aux Français"! Ha,now who can understand
this?!
Oh oh oh!! I understand it!!! <proudly> "a big kiss to Sam and to
the French"!
I wish I could figure out how to make the cool accent marks, but the
codes on
the computer are impossible to crack unless someone tells you. I can't
even
make the accent mark over the e in your name, Celine! Anyway, Celine's
the
president of the French branch of Savage Gardenism! ~Lauren :o)

Hi Lauren!
Just a note for the SGer: I've added two more wallpaper images to the
SG
Chat site. They're free and available for anyone to download. The three
images now available are the original "Delites" image, an image of
only
Daniel, and an image of only Darren. The last two were rendered from
exclusive, never-before-seen concert photos.
Hope everyone enjoys them! (Can you tell I have way too much free time
on my hands, making so much SG wallpaper? Oh well, hopefully someone
will like them. = ) )
I love them! If you want to check out her awesome wallpaper (which I'd
use if
I didn't get in trouble for setting up an X-Files them on my computer
last
year), just go to the SGer's website which is at the end of the newsletter
as
always. You can get a direct link to the chat site right there. ~Lauren

Hey!
I just thought I'd write and tell you how the ANimal SOng is doing in
Calgary
Canada. It is already at 15 on the top 30, and is on all the
Top 7 at 7 and
Top 9 at 9 daily countdowns.

I heard The Animal Song for the first time, and I absolutly loved
it.
The 80's feel of this song is a style not aggressivly explored
by Savage
Garden yet. But the influence is certainly there!
Something about this song that gives it a universal appeal is
the great
music. Daniel absolutly supprised me with the beautiful indvidual sound
of
every instriment in the song.
As far as the lyrics go...Once again Darren has hidden a deeper
meaning...very thoughtful word choices. The vocal range itself is truly
amazing.
I would like to know what everyone else thinks of the contrast
between this
song and all their other works..Email me at [email protected]

**To all AOLers: Please let me know if you're getting rid of your screen
name,
leaving AOL, or whatever reason you may have for not having the screen
name
that's on the SGer list. It's a major pain having to interrupt the
sending-out
process to get rid of deleted names. It would help me a lot if you
told me.
Thanks!
**To all chain letter lovers: Please don't send me chain letters. I
get enough
mail as it is and would rather have my box clogged with messages having
to do
with the SGer or important stuff than chain letters that I just delete
anyway.
And here's a little help: Those virus warnings? They're not real, so
don't
bother with them (watch, my computer will get infected with a virus
for not
sending it on). And the ones with the subject line "If you delete this,
you
have no heart, help this little girl"...not real, either (some little
girl
will probably die because I delete it). Plus, they're REALLY annoying.
Here's
something I can't figure out: Everyone complains about and hates chain
letters. So why does everyone send them on?? Some things will never
be
explained...
**I got a lot of responses regarding the "Is 'The Animal Song' the best
song
SG have put forth?" question? Here are 2 select quotes from various
messages I
got:
"I still like the old songs but TAS, I think, shows how D&D have
grown. Daniel
musically and Darren lyrically."
"It's unlike any other song Savage Garden has written before, but it's
definitely not lacking the seemingly supernatural talent these boys
have.
It's just shining with life and energy. I think it may be my
favorite song
ever. It seriously does something for me deep inside, and I think
I'm not the
only one it moves so much."
In the end, it looks as though the majority of you agree that "The Animal
Song" is the best so far. As for me, I love that song dearly but I
think I'll
always remain loyal to "To the Moon and Back".
**If you're looking to join that Daniel Jones club that was mentioned
in last
week's issue, the website address was mistyped. Here is the correct
addy:
http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/danieljonesclub
**If you've been talking to [email protected], who is supposedly Darren
and/or
Daniel, don't believe it. From what I've heard, this person has led
a lot of
people to believe it was him/them so don't fall for it. In fact, if
you ever
come across someone who tells you they're Darren and/or Daniel, DON'T
believe
it. Realistically, it's hard to swallow that you'd come across them
online on
AOL. Use your common sense and don't give these imposters a few laughs.
**And so I raise the greatest question in musical history: Why exactly
do
British/Australian/Irish/etc. singers not sound British/Australian/Irish/etc.
when they sing?
**Do you want to see Savage Garden on the Rosie O'Donnell Show again?
Let
Rosie know she has to have her self-proclaimed favorite band on for
the fourth
time, especially with such an awesome new song out! AOL users just
go to
keyword: Rosie and internet users go to http://www.rosie.com Thanks
to
[email protected] for the idea!
That's it for this week! I wish I had something to say in this section
but
since I've already said everything, there's nothing else! Have a Savage
week,
and I'll catch ya next Thursday!
Peace, love, and Savage Garden!

DISCLAIMER: I do not own Darren Hayes and/or Daniel Jones. I wish I
did, but
since slavery isn't legal in the U.S. anymore, I'm outta luck. I make
no money
for the "publication" of this newsletter, so if you're a nasty big
company
like that dumb Hit Records, don't waste your time suing me (especially
since
you're probably trying to get a chunk of Savage's earnings, anyway).
Besides,
my life savings consist of $2.54. The program you have just watched
contains
real-life stories. The names have been changed to protect the innocent.
