Well, I was actually right about Rosie!!!! If you recall last issue,
I said:
"I can just imagine what she'll say - 'Almost 2 years ago I heard this
song
and loved it, then I heard another song and loved it and it turned
out to be
the same guys, then I heard another song and loved it and it turned
out to be
the same guys!' If you didn't catch their second appearance, you'll
have no
idea what I'm talking about". She basically said the exact same thing!
Turns
out she's a HUGE fan of To the Moon and Back and didn't realize Savage
Garden
did it, asked the lady that books the guests to get the people who
sing that
"fly me to the moon" song and she told Rosie to get the CD "you moron!"
because it's the same group! And also, John McDee (the guy that she
talks with
every day at the start of the show, he also is in her little band)
AND Cindy
Crawford who was a guest that same day, said how great the song is.
Well,
Rosie didn't get to interview the guys (sigh), but she did say that
they're
one of her favorite bands, and gave Darren and Daniel a kiss and wished
them a
good vacation (vacation?? They're going HOME!). The entire band looked
exhausted, but they performed TTMAB beautifully, and on a screen to
the side
of the stage they played the new TTMAB video. A nice effect! But not
only
that, but it appears Darren has changed his look yet again!! Not too
drastic
like last time, and I can't quite put my finger on it, but there's
something
different about him! Three cheers to Rosie...a great way to start her
third
season! But sadly, this was the last TV appearance in the US for a
while.
We'll have to wait until the next single (Break Me Shake Me) is released,
or
possibly even the new album since the guys have spent the last 9 months(!)
touring. But anyway, it was great to see the guys on TV again one last
time,
and as much as I miss them, I'm glad they're finally home...they deserve
the
time off!

**Some news from [email protected]! The guys appear in Superstars, a
teenybopper magazine, this month! Check it out, it contains photos
from a
recent shoot!! And it's absolutely beautiful!! Seriously...I was in
the
grocery store, saw it, and basically had a heart attack right there
on aisle
7. Ha! What a mess to clean up! Anywayz, this Superstars ish is dedicated
to
the Backstreet Boys, but nonetheless has other bands in it. SO GET
IT! It's
great! :D
**But wait...more teenybopper appearances! According to [email protected],
the
guys make appearances in Teen Beat and Teen Machine. I've seen the
Teen Beat
thingy and it contains a pic from the Nickelodeon Kids Choice show
from over a
year ago(!), and includes last month's tour dates (uhh...they're a
little
late...). I haven't seen the Teen Machine (LOL! These teenybopper mags
have
the most hilarious names!! My favorite: Bop! "I'm a bopper!". LOL!!
Ok...done!), but since it's Savage Garden, it HAS to be a great pic!
**News from [email protected] - supposedly the guys will be at it again!!
Australia, prepare for a tour beginning March of '99 (or theareabouts).
Thanks
for the info, Mandy! This will most likely be to promote the new album,
which
I figure will be released in February (in Australia). For the rest
of us, the
album release could be delayed until the Aussie tour is over, or we
could
simply not get a tour at all. Oh well, at least the guys have a few
months'
deserved rest!!
**To the Moon and Back jumps up one spot to #15 on the Rick Dees Weekly
Top
40!!
**NEWS FLASH!!!!! According to a newspaper in Virginia that my dear
friend
[email protected] saw, we Americans should "expect a video collection
to hit
stores October 6th"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks millions Kara, I am SO
THERE ON
OCTOBER 6TH!!!!!
**It's this week's Billboard stats!! To the Moon and Back drops back
to #34
this week (KEEP REQUESTING IT, I TELL YOU!!!!! We can't let this song
drop
back anymore!!!!!) while Truly remains solid at #22. The album itself
joins
TTMAB at #34.

Savage Trivia
Last week's trivia question was: what music video by which artist did
Daniel
and his brother's recreate in their backyard using a video camera?
And woo
hoo!!! Quite a few people got it right!! The answer is Thriller by
Michael
Jackson! Well, congrats to those who got it right:

And Daniel is the subject of this week's trivia, however next week I
have a
great yet sad one for Darren! This week trivia question is: What special
thing
is Daniel doing to get over his fear of flying?

Hi, I got a news about Japanese "Video Collection" I'd like to share
with
other SG fans. The video had been at first scheduled to be out
on October
7, but it will be delayed and released on October 14.
The contents will be mostly videoclips.
1. I Want You
2. To The Moon & Back
3. Truly, Madly, Deeply
4. Break Me Shake Me
5. Tears Of Pearls
6. Santa Monica (live version from Hard Rock Live)
I went to see the last concert in the States--Louisville, KY--and it
was
truly fantastic. It was worth going all the way from Japan.
Both Billie
Myers and Savage Garden were so exciting!
Thank you so much!! I know there are tons of people out there who wanted
this
info. And I'm taking a guess here, but the music videos included on
this video
are most likely the ones released in the US. Thanks again! ~Lauren

(please include this in the next SG'er! thanks!)
In response to Sarah, that happened at the NYC show on Aug 25! I had
6th row
seats and found out afterward... my head is spinning from the fact
that I
breathed the same air as Madonna did... and I heard SG sing Ray of
Light
during the soundcheck. The *very* nice guard let us in through the
backdoor
but wouldn't let us open the doors into the theatre, but I heard them
start a
song that sounded really familiar (I was obsessed with Ray of Light
when it
came out, it's the best Madonna song) and I heard Darren start singing
"Zephr
in the sky at night I wonder.." and I freaked. I'm surprised *they*
didn't
hear me scream. Annnnnyway the cool thing was, I taped the NYC concert
and I
can hear him sing Ray of Light whenever I want (*laugh*).
Thanks for that!! I told Sarah it was probably in NYC, good guess on
my part!
Well, thanks again! I think that's really neat and Daz must have been
so
thrilled!! ~Lauren :o)

please check it out. Also, thanks for making my webring link into the

In your last issue, T3757 wrote:
<<OK, I was surfing the Columbia site a few weeks ago for SG
stuff, and they
HAD AN AD FOR MARILYN MANSON!!! Now that just ticked me off of course
because
they'll advertise for his satanic CRAP...>>
I think I'm going to have to say something about this one. I
saw the ad, too,
but I don't think you should be saying anything about his "satanic
CRAP."
The media has created this evil, keep-your-kids-away image for Manson,
not
him. He did not create that. He does not push whatever
his beliefs are upon
you. There are Christian bands. There are Buddists bands,
there are Hindu
bands, there is every single kind of band you can think of that will
some how
or another piss other people off. I think the reason Columbia
is saying no to
Mine is that it has lyrics directly connected to the Christian religion.
Manson's lyrics neither endorse NOR put Christianity down. When
we hear
people dissing SG, we get all in a huff and tell them to stop it because
they
don't know what they're saying, that they don't understand the
band....shouldn't we ALSO keep quiet about bands we don't understand?
Listen
to your own words of wisdom.
I can see your point, but the hypocracy of Columbia by refusing to release
Mine because of the religious line, and then to go advertising for
Marilyn
Manson whose, like I said in the letter, album titled Antichrist Superstar,
is
directly ANTI-Christian, yet you blame Mine for being directly connected
to
the Christian religion. If Manson doesn't want to have a satanic image,
then
he'd better well clean up his act. His lyrics don't have to have direct
connection to anti-whatever, especially since his CD title is exactly
that! He
brought it on himself by the way he acts! Haven't you heard some of
the things
he does onstage?? It's disgusting! The media isn't the one to blame,
it's
Manson himself. I hope you don't think I'm being too harsh, but I can't
honestly see how you could feel this way. As far as I'm concerned,
his music
is "satanic CRAP" to me too, and to let him carry on while refusing
the
release of a beautiful song shows how pathetic American companies can
be!

**Well, the petition will finally be sent out tomorrow (Friday). I
deliberately delayed it since I had an inkling that some of you may
want to
include yourself last minute, or in some people's cases, hadn't checked
their
mail for the final call for the Mine petition names. So, a thank you
to those
people who helped pushed the way for the petition to get 405 names
for our
grand total!!!!!!
Ashley, Theresa, Mystical, Hollie, Amy, Courtney, Lisa, Amanda, Vicky,
Scott,
Candy, Megan, Courtney, Elizabeth, Whitney, Kathleen, Crystal, and
Megan!
**Do you desperately want to be an Aussie? The first step in that is
perfecting your Aussie slang so you can impress Darren and Daniel!
The Amazing
Strine-O-Matic is the perfect way to do this!! All you do is type in
English
what you want to convert into Aussie, then click "show me the strine!"
and
voila! Your phrase is now Australian! The Strine-O-Matic is LOTS of
fun, I
promise you'll enjoy it! So check it out at:
http://www.ozchannel.com/gsl/strineomatic/strineomatic.html
Have fun!!!
**Alrighty, there will be a pretty big change coming up for the Savage
Gardener. Since there are over 350 subscribers it takes an extremely
long
amount of time to send the newsletter out through email, and whenever
someone
wants to unsubscribe or change their email address, I literally have
to look
through hundreds of names to find it. So, with the help of our Aussie
correspondant/webmistress that we all know and love, Sarah, I was able
to get
started on changing the format of the newsletter. It will be like a
mailing
list format, but it's NOT a mailing list. So don't even try to post
messages
because it won't work, k? I'm the only one who can send out messages.
You
won't have to re-subscribe because the program Sarah found allows me
to do
that myself. You'll be getting a welcome email about it soon because
the
program requires one sent out, but since you all most likely want to
still be
subscribed I'll just use that space to fill you in on any other details
I
discover while setting up. So for this issue, keep sending me your
comments
like you always did (through direct email), and I'll give you the rest
of the
info soon. Also, if you're one of the people doing me a huge favor
by
advertising the SGer on your site, I'll give you the addy to replace
my email
one as soon as I get the thing set up. More details soon, and I'm sorry
for
any inconvenience this may cause!
Well, that's it for this week! Unfortunately, I started school today
(Thursday) but hopefully that won't interfere with my duties at the
Savage
Gardener. Well, another major thank you to those involved in the Mine
petition, and expect the new format of the SGer next week. Till next
time...
Peace, love, and Savage Garden!
