The Savage Gardener #47
As promised here's my review of the WMA. They did beautifully, as always,
but
those camera people really need to zero in on the other half of Savage
Garden!!! We saw Daniel, what, once? Twice? Three at the most. And
here's
something my little brain thought of...you know how Darren sometimes
walks
over to Daniel when they're performing? Could this, now this is just
a theory,
be so the camera people show Dan too? Just a theory!

Savage Trivia
Last week's trivia quessie was "Why will America never hear Mine?".
The
ridiculous answer is because the people at Columbia felt the song was
"lyrically overblown, offensive, and quite frankly has no place in
the
American market because of its religious content", Darren said in an
interview. Congrats to the few who got it right:
SexxyAquaa Tigger3019 FPeachL
Next week's trivia is: What was the original name of Truly Madly Deeply?

For AquaSJG...
The way I get posters of the guys is I find a picture on the net that
I
love, put it on a disk, and take it to Kinko's copy place. They will
enlarge it and print it out and it will be of super quality. All you
need to do is find a place where they do photo-quality enlargements
onto
poster-sized paper!
That's a great idea!!! I'm really impressed! I think I'll go do this
sometime...~Lauren :o)

**I need your input! What do you think of Columbia's ban of Mine? They
won't
even release it on a B-side of a single. And if they're so against
religious
references then why did they allow I'll Bet He Was Cool to be released
on the
B-side of Truly?? That one really stumped me. And there are tons of
songs with
religious content so why all of a sudden do they not want it anymore?
Mine
contains one line of religious content ("I'll bear all the crosses
and the
crucifixes you can provide") which, according to Darren, isn't even
meant
literally. He interpreted it as meaning "I'll do anything, you can
pin
anything on me as long as you decide", something most people were able
to
figure out the first time they heard it. So let the other members of
the SGer
know what you think! And you don't have to be an American to send in
what you
think. Since Columbia caters SG to the rest of the world except Australia,
this affects you too! And you Aussies can let us know how you feel
since it's
on your release of the CD. So here we go, what do you members think?
**If you haven't checked out Sarah's wonderful website for the SGer,
then go
now! And if you have, go again! The main reason is to see pics of Daniel
and
Darren when they were young kids!!!! Yup, take a look at the growing
years of
Darren Hayes and Daniel Jones from the Aussie Rolling Stone! From Dan's
pic
you can tell he's a born musician! And what beautiful kids they were!
Ohhh,
you must have been a beautiful baaaaaaaabeeee!. And while you're there,
sign
the guestbook!
**I am going to propose an idea!! I think it'd be fun to have a special
issue
dedicated to the Future of Earthly Delites tour as soon as it wraps
up. If you
go/have gone to one, I'd appreciate having you send in your review!
And this
is open to ALL Delites shows, not just the American ones. Just email
me and
let me know if you'd like to be part of the special Savage Gardener
staff to
review the Delites concert!!
That's it for this week's ish of the SGer. Remember to send in your
thoughts
about Columbia's refusal to release Mine! And also, let me know if
you want to
sign up to send in your review of the Delites concert! In the meantime,
have a
Savage week!
Peace, love, and Savage Garden!
