The Savage Gardener #39

Good goshness, did all you American fans catch the Rosie O'Donnell and MTV
Live appearances?! YOW!! Did they rock or what?! Phew...my poor little heart's
a-flutter!! The part on the MTV Live interview where Dan licked his
finger...ay yi yi!! Phew...is it hot in here or is it just me? I've been
watching it over and over in slow motion! Anyhoo, this newsletter is crammed
with a TON of news, including a possible re-release of a single here in
America. Which one is it? Read on to find out!

**AWESOME news for Daz and Dan themselves! Last week I announced that their
album had gone double platinum, but it wasn't double...the album was certified
***TRIPLE PLATINUM*** by the RIAA on March 31st!!! That's over 3 MILLION
copies sold in America!!!! Many many congratulations to Darren and Daniel for
their incredible yet much deserving success and I put the entire blame about
the wrong info on Rick Dees cuz that's where I heard it!

**SG rocked The Rosie O'Donnell show for the second time on Wednesday, April
8th. They sang a beautiful performance of Truly and they looked mighty
beautiful too (don't they always?)! Is it just me, or have Darren and Daniel
warmed up to American TV since their first appearance on Rosie nearly a year
ago? They seemed a tad shy last time. Anyhoo, there was no time to have a full
interview (darnit!) but the Boys presented Rosie with their triple platinum
award as a thank you for all that she's done for them. It was soo sweet!!!

**Later that same night, SG jammed over Times Square in New York City for an
appearance on MTV Live singing Truly. Oh...to be one of those lucky New
Yorkers!! Sigh! Darren and Daniel were also interviewed and I'm still swooning
over that lick of the finger..."Let me take you home and get you into
something dry"...ooh la la! I'm SO glad I have it on tape!! Thank goodness for
the rewind button!!!! Woo hoo!! I'm gonna have sweet dreams for weeks, baby!!!
Ok, calm down, Lauren...and for those of you who didn't/couldn't catch the
Finger Lick interview, the theme was crazy pickup lines and the host asked if
they had heard any outrageous ones and Daniel said he had one. He licked his
finger and pretended to touch someone with it and half-whispers: "Let me take
you home and get you into something dry" which totally made my heart skip a
beat and my stomach flip-flop! All hail the Finger Lick!!

**Don't forget about Savage Garden's third and final (as of today) appearance
on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno coming up this Tuesday, April 14, on NBC.
Check your local listings for times (11:30pm pacific)!

**Truly has jumped up to #5 on the Billboard Hot 100 and the album itself has
jumped up to being the #3 album in America, Savage Garden's peak position!! I
wasn't going to say anything about this before, but I'll say it now...Savage
Garden's album is expected to knock the Titanic soundtrack out of the #1
spot!! Go SG!! Sink that ship again!!!

**The lady who brought us Savage Garden (or the name, at least) will be having
a live chat on AOL on April 14th. If you want to chat with author Anne Rice
and you have AOL, just click

**Some interesting news to report! Savage Garden could possibly be re-
releasing To the Moon and Back here in the States. When I hear definite word
on this matter I'll let you know what will happen with this particular song!
This info is from Entertainment Weekly if you want to check it out! More info
below on the EW article.

**Check out this month's issue of Entertainment Weekly! It has an article and
a great pic of the Boys! A must-have for all American fans and it has some
very cool info about them! America has fallen under the Savage spell and it
looks the boys are here to stay. Of course, everything depends on the second
album. Daz and Dan, your fate is in your hands!! We know you won't let us
down!!

                                         Savage Trivia

Last week's question was: what kind of car does Daniel drive? Up to a few days
ago, the answer was a Mazda Astina. But I found out from [email protected]
that Dan recently bought a new *silver* Mercedes 500sl <drools> ack, sorry!
Anyhoo, I'm still counting the people who guessed Mazda right because that was
the right answer. Congrats to those who got it right and many thanks to Leah
for sending this info (I still gotta write his bio...nobody knows the answers
to the Dan-related questions!):

Here's a question for dear Daz as promised! What was the first thing Darren
bought when he got his first paycheck after recording I Want You?

ATTENTION!! I would just like to tell you all that Lauren has reached an
ultimate high! It's official, ladies and gentlemen, the wallpapering of her
locker has begun! Daniel and Darren are now begining their official tour
across the inside walls of Lauren's locker! So let's all give her a round of
applause, any reeeeeeeeally hot pics of the Gods we might have (haha as if
there's some out there she hasn't seen yet!), and plenty of that glue you use
to put up wallpaper! Just thought you'd like to know ;)

This is my dear friend Kimmy who decided to announce that I was finally able
to part with a few pics of the boys to make my locker at school much more fun
to look at. Only thing is, I don't think my locker neighbors appreciate the
drool. ~Lauren :oD

Thanks so much for the wonderful newsletter, Lauren!  Your humor and the great
updates and things about SG make the newsletter the best!!!! (Also, hopefully
your dentist will have to stay in Europe for a long, long time!)

Meow543

Hopefully he'll move there! Anyhoo, thanks for the compliments! You're too
sweet! ~Lauren :o)

To Savage69r:
Hi I live in Oregon too (I share your view it sucks!!)  The songs you are
looking for aren't sold anywhere in the U.S.  You'll have to get import  Cds
which I have, All but "Fire inside the Man"  which I'm still looking for.  Do
you by any chance have the Nick awards recorded?

To SvgeGrdnDD:
I have the R&KL performance recorded twice if you want one.  Do you have the
Nick performances from a year or two ago?

OzAngel13

ATTENTION: ~*~Savage69r~*~ and ~*~SvgeGrdnDD~*~...hehe, sorry. I just wanted
to make sure these two saw the messages are for them. ~Lauren :o)

**SavGarGrL wanted me to let all AOLers know that there is a special section
from Rolling Stone Online dedicated to the beautiful ones! Click
<A HREF="aol://4344:1828.m1580.15618621.566695832">here</A> to see some great
info about them! Though RSO needs to actually PUT stuff in there, hehe. That
would help just a little.

**This is a one-time survey to satisfy my own curious mind! Do you think re-
releasing To the Moon and Back is a good idea or a waste of time? What are you
own thoughts about the song? Did it get the recognition you thought it would?
Do you think that re-releasing it would bring more attention to it? And
finally, why do you think TTMAB didn't do very well in America?  Tell me what
you think and I'll put your comments in a special "To the Moon and Back: A
Second Journey?" section! If I get enough responses, I'll make a special issue
dedicated to the subject!

Well, that's it for this week's issue of the Savage Gardener! Stay Savage and
enjoy the Leno appearance (like I have to tell you that!)! Remember to send
all info, news, and updates to yours truly (no pun intended, I swear!)! Until
next week, keep on Savagin'!

Peace, love, and Savage Garden!
