hey Lauren!
I just wanted to say: you've done a GREAT job with the Savage Gardener!
No
one else can even begin to measure up to your success. I have
looked forward
to receiving the Savage Gardener from you every Thursday, and I'm really
sad
that I won't be getting it anymore. But I completely understand
that there
comes a time when you need to stop and move on. I know that your
love for
Savage Garden hasn't fizzled any and that you will always love their
music.
I would like to thank you for all your time and energy, for it is much
appreciated by me and many, many others. Don't worry about letting
anyone
down; we all understand and appreciate all your hard work and dedication.
You were always up-to-date with all the facts and I loved all your
witty
comments. Especially the disclaimer!! LMAO I really
admire everything
you've done so selflessly and hope that you've enjoyed it as much as
we have.
Thank you for everything. Stay cool and always stay savage!
Love always,
KC ([email protected])
p.s. Remember: "All hail the Finger Lick!!!" LoL Keep
your awesome sense
of humor, girl! =)

Lauren,
Even now as I sit down to write this letter of thanks, I find it hard
to put
into words what I feel. Maybe that's because words cannot express how
much
you've given to me, as well as all the subscribers of the Savage Gardener.
You've given us up-to-date info on the guys, their whereabouts, their
chart
status, anything we'd ever want to know. And you've given it to us
in such an
abundance that we as individuals may never be able to find so much
information on our own (at least most of us won't!). But even
more
importantly, you've reached out to Savage Garden fans around the world
and
united us - a goal that every newsletter in cyberspace hopes to achieve,
but
few ever do. You were more than just the editor/writer of a newsletter;
you
were a really good friend. At the end of every week, I would
find myself
elated, not just because it was the start of the weekend, but because
I knew
what my mailbox had in store for me. I would rush home from school
and
immediately sign on to AOL, smiling when I heard the familiar words
"You've
Got Mail," and ignore all my other email until I finished reading every
word
of the SGer. Now, as we draw ever closer to the official end
of the world's
largest Savage Garden newsletter, I still find it hard to believe it's
really
over. But like the end of the debut album, I think this will
mean a new
beginning as well. Sure, there will be a few long months at first when
I know
I'm going to forget and come running home one Friday to find an empty
mailbox, then feel my heart sink as I remember the SGer has officially
ended.
But in the long run, we'll all have a new album from Savage Garden
to look
forward to. And you, Lauren, will have more changes in your life than
any of
the other fans; you'll have the relief from the stresses of having
to find
info and trivia questions, and to keep such a major newsletter running.
How
you did it for so long still puzzles me, but I know you have got to
be one of
the only people in the world who could have done something like this;
people
like you come few and far between. And I can say this: you've
given us more
than you'll ever know, and probably more than you could even fathom.
My best
wishes go out to you for whatever your future may hold. Thank
you, Lauren,
for everything you've done.
Sincerely,
Brittany ([email protected])

Hey Lauren!
I've only been registered with the Savage Gardener
for a little while,
but still, every time I see it in my mailbox I cheer with joy!
I look
forward to reading it every week.
Whenever I go on an SG web site, and they have information;
all the info
is stuff that I already heard from you! You give all of us SG
subscribers
the news first!
I respect your decision to lay the SG-er down to
rest, and if Savage
Garden had a party for their number one fan, I think it should be you.
You
spent so much time to make the SG-er and it really shows how much you
love
the band!
I wish you much luck later on in your life.
Peace, Love and Savage Garden!

Your newsletter was always great
w/ up-to-date news and interesting
trivia! I personally know how much time a newsletter can take.
Thanks for
the time you put into the newsletter. It paid off. The
Savaged Gardener
will be missed by all the Savage Garden fans online! :)

Lauren,
Surprise! I have to
say thank you so much for all your great work on
the Savage Gardener, even though I already said it before. I've
been a
subscriber for a looooooooooong time, and I've got to say it's been
one of
the best "savage" moves I've ever made. Thanks a million; my
life will never
quite be the same. Maybe that sounds like an exaggeration, but
it's the
truth. I'll probably tell my grandkids (even great-grandkids
if I'm lucky)
about how when I was young I was obsessed with this group called Savage
Garden and via e-mail got a great newsletter every week by a girl named
Lauren who lived in Southern California. Then I'll have to explain
to
them what e-mail was, and they'll laugh at the primitiveness of it,
but you
get my drift. Maybe I'll ask them to play "Truly, Madly, Deeply"
at my
funeral. =) Don't ask. I had a very spiritual experience
not long ago with
that song at my friend's house. Well, I guess this is it.
I'm going to miss
sending long, psycho e-mails to the only other person I know who understands
my Savage obsession and doesn't think I'm totally crazy for going on
and on
and on about how great they are. Have a great summer, and maybe
I'll see you
again when we're both back-up singers for Savage Garden!
Live long and prosper, and may the force be with you (Darren's not
the ONLY
one obsessed with Star Wars!)!
For the last time,
love Robyn

Hey Lauren,
I want to thank you for all the newsletters. This was the only newsletter
that had NEWS! the others are old news. I'll miss opening

Wow, 100. Lauren, you've done such a great job with the newsletter.
I've
learned so many more dimensions of Savage Garden than I knew there
were. I'm
probably going to miss many Savage appearances without the newsletter
telling
me when to set my VCR. Good luck to you on everything you do,
and I hope
life without a weekly newsletter is a lot less stressful for you.

Lauren,
I really want to thank you for all of your hard work on the Savage
Gardener!
We have all benefited from all of your time and efforts and I will
really
miss this newsletter.
You always kept the SGer a reliable source of information on our wonderful
guys, never spreading rumors, just keeping us informed of any real
news. And
it was a great way to reach a lot of SG fans when we tried to organize
something together for the benefit of Darren and Daniel. I also
want to
thank you for being the first one to hear and transcribe the words
to TAS
when it first came out. That was a fun time for all of us.
I'll really miss
hearing from you every week. You did a wonderful job!

Lauren, I guess I'm something like a new subscriber. Because I started
receiveng the NL since the #70 or something like that. But from
what I've
seen It's the very best SG's newsletter. From the Savage Gardener I
leaned a
LOT of things about SG and I happened to get some cds too !
So, I want to thank you so much for this. You really really deserve
it
I hope one day you can send the Savage Gardener again..
See you...

Lauren,
Your newsletter has got to be the best one out there. I loved
all the
gossip, and actual info that was put into it. I have almost every single
copy
of the newsletter on disk, or in my favorite places folder. I've been
a
member I think since issue #32 or so. It was my 1st source of Savage
Info
when I first became obsessed with Savage Garden. I think you were one
of the
first people I sent the infamous "finger lick" wav to. That was the
best
interview Daniel has been in. I hope you keep us somewhat informed
on Savage
Info if you find stuff out. I'll miss this wonderful newsletter. Stay
Savaged!!! And remember what Dan said, "Let me take you home and get
you into
something dry." (flashback to MTV Live) *evil grin*

I guess I'd be going too far to beg you to continue the SGer cause

Well, Lauren, put simply, I'm going to miss
the awesome work you've done
on the Savage Gardener. I always looked forward each week to
finding your

info. and I
still don't know how you did it all. I know it took a lot of
work to do, but
I (and the others) really appreciate it. More than you could
know. You
really do deserve an achievement award or something like that!
I'm kind of
sad about the whole thing, but I understand and support your reasons.
I
really don't know what all to say. I will say that I'm really
going to miss
it. You are a true friend and also a special person for what
you have done
for us and Savage Garden. You have a talent (I hope you realize!)
with your
writing in addition to being a sweet person. To me, you seem
very mature for
your age! Yes, that's supposed to be a compliment! :)
Well, I guess I
really just want to thank you for writing the Savage Gardener and putting
a
little more Savage into my life. Not that I could ever get enough

Hey Lauren;
We all cannot thank you enough for all the work you've done!!
I think my
savage IQ would definatly be lower. I love friday, because then
i could walk
around rattling off all the new savage garden facts i had learned!
I also appreciated the mine petition. it was a great idea, even if
the
crackheads at columbia records didn't do anything about it.
And also, your moral support about the whole fanatic thing; we were
both
really upset at not being chosen, and it made me feel better with those
e-mails back and
forth we had at slamming MTV. =)
And ESPECIALLY thank you for sending out the list with the concert
dates for
the usa!! i couldn't have gotten 5th row with out you!
well this is getting long and i'm sure you have a TON of other letters
to get
through, but THANX!!! =)
Stay sweet like a chic-a cherry cola and may the force be with you,

what i wrote in yearbooks),

Hey Lauren! Sorry to hear you have to depart, but I can understand why,
especially the school work side of the reason (I myself have neglected
my
site for months due to lack of time on the computer!). But before you
leave
us, just know that we all enjoyed the 74 issues you've given us (from
26 to
100). I know that when the SvGder stops coming, I'll have nothing to
look
forward to on a friday afternoon and my mailbox may even be empty,
but I
think I'll live... :) So good luck where ever you may go and keep the
Savage

Well, where to start...umm..I just want you to know how much I've appreciated
everything you've done! I had just been online for a few weeks, when
someone
told me about this great Savage Garden newsletter.(I wish I could remember
who it was who told me..thank you to whoever you are!) So,I signed
up to get
it..and WOW! I couldn't believe how well done and informative it was!
I
learned something new in each one! (Mostly because of the trivia questions
...I don't think I ever knew any of the answers!) I could go on and
on about
it,but I don't want to make this too long.I guess what I really appreciated
most was the time you'd take to answer all the e-mails I sent, the IMs,and
for
your help with all my ideas.Especially after I started doing the Fan
of the
Week Spotlight, when I saw just a glimpse of what you do week after
week, reading and responding to ALL those e-mails,not to mention just
writing
the SGer up each week.It really meant more to me then, when you'd take
the
time to answer one of my silly questions, knowing how busy you must
be with
everything else! Umm..well it sure is going to be strange next Thursday
night, going online and not seeing the Savage Gardener in my mailbox, but
I
know that you're doing the right thing for you...
and you deserve it after all you've done for all of us! :o) Thank you,
Thank you,Thank you,again for all of your dedication,time,hard work,and
love....Savage Garden is lucky to have such a caring, dedicated fan
like
you..and we're lucky that you thought enough to share that with us
all!

If it wasn't for you, Lauren, I would never have known all that
I do about
Savage Garden. There's never anything about them here in Ireland,
and I've
looked at mailing lists and newsgroups on the net, but none reach the
extreamly high standard of your The Savage Gardener. You have
put so much
hard work into it in its duration, no matter how little or much there
was in
the news about Darren and Daniel. It never lacked ideas. Unfortunately
I only
joined the SGer near midway, but I learned a lot, and I really loved
it. I've
honestly felt like I was really part of a community.
I have little words to describe how greatful I am to you, not to mention
how
proud I am of you !! Despite being tired, or fed up with everything,
or
having computer problems, you always managed to give us a completed
Savage
Gardener. Thank You for everything you have done, for all you
hard work and
effort. I will really miss The Savage Gardener, but I respect
your decision.
I'm really going to miss you, too, Lauren !
Thank You So Much Lauren !!!!

Dearest Lauren...
Firstly I would like to say thanks for everything. Thanks for being
patient
with my
never-ending emails, thanks for actually publishing some of them on
the SGer,
and also thanks for actually reading that email I sent you with all
those
videos about Dan
actually singing. (I was wrong, though...:| ) Of all the Savage zines
I've
read, yours
was the best, and also the longest-lasting. I've never seen a zine
go up to
issue #100!
That's terrific! I'm sure if Savage Garden had known about this, they
would
be proud to have such a devoted fan as yourself. You really have done
an
excellent job on the SGer - congratulations.
It's just too bad that the 100th issue would be the last. It would mark
the
end of a
wonderful era in online zines. Never again would I get to read the
latest
news on Savage Garden - really, the SGer has more latest news than
most
fansites - never again would I get to know what other fans think of
Savage
Garden, never again would I get to know fun trivia via the Savage Trivia
section. I just wish the zine would go on and on for 20 years, just
like
Savage Garden hope they could.
Best wishes in the future and hopefully the SGer would be up again,
someday.
I'll now end this letter with a quote I read from a greeting card:
~There are many things in the world which shouldn't be said....Goodbye
is one
of them. *Sigh*~
Sincerely,
Zahira Tahnee Tiara, Malaysia ([email protected])
